This weekend I'm heading on a solo camping trip to test the contents of my 72 hour emergency kit. 2015 was my first attempt at creating a 72 hour emergency kit, and my instincts tell me that I'm either missing something very important, or that I just haven't thought it all the way through. Here's my bag (most of it anyway - I left garbage bags and a few other things tightly packed up inside). I'll unpack it over the weekend and take better pictures to share with you early next week. Not sure what a 72 hour emergency kit...

  Great, simple idea for a camping toilet. I think I might add the following to my kit: mixture of ash and woodchips (great for masking odors and composting) make sure the toilet paper is compostable Put extra bags in the bottom of the pail, so that it's easy to clean and replace with a new bag
